Non-affiliated gas card
The latest is gas card offerings by credit card companys that offer a rebate or cashback program for the gas station minded user. The few currently available offer rebates or cashback at the pump of 2% to 3% percent which is less than the gas company specific issue but offer more in other ways for many users.. The gas reward features are automatically credited toward toward your account or future purchases depending on the card rules. The usual rebate requirement is that is that the gas rebate rate applies for gas station purchases, and there may be a standard rebate rate additionally. Advantage number one come in the fact that you have a choice of thousands of gas stations across the US from which to choose from not specific to one gas company. The second advantage is for those who carry a balance. That one time rebate at the pump can be muted over time from the interest saved on the longer term APR that you pay month to month. So if you maintain a balance on your card you may save over the long run with this style of card. The card is also works like a standard issue Visa or Mastercard for purchases (ie. shopping, purchase protection, fruad protection, etc.) and may have further cashback, rebate or reward perks from the issuer for other purchases.
